Stipes Report
ON ARRIVAL AT THE START, RINGHO (R DANIELSON) AND PURSUIT OF FAME (M YENI) WERE SUBJECT TO A LATE VETERINARY EXAMINATION AND PASSED FIT TO RACE. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) STOP THE TRAFFIC (L Nhlapo) was stubborn loading and thereafter slow losing one length. b) QUASIKAT (J Penny) was restless in the stalls and thereafter slow losing one length. c) EL CID (J Greyling) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, RINGHO (R Danielson) was directed inwards and raced in isolation parallel to the inside running rail and tired rapidly from the 300m. b) BOURBON RESERVE (C Zackey) hung in from the 500m. c) EL CID (J Greyling) was eased out of the race at the 600m and was attended to by the Veterinary Surgeon. Thereafter, Jockey J Greyling reported that he felt something amiss with this horse in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) QUASIKAT (J Penny), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Khan advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) BOURBON RESERVE raced with a tongue tie on (declared 30 October 2024 at 07H58). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) EL CID lame left hind. Veterinary report required prior to racing. Rule 49.7 applies. EL CID is required to perform a gallop to the satisfaction of the NHA veterinary department prior to his next engagement. Trainer D C Pretorius advised (MB). b) SOLAMENTE blowing post race. c) BOURBON RESERVE abnormal respiratory noise. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. Race 3 contd. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
