THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	MARVEL WILLIAM (R Khathi) was squeezed between ARISTOTLE (G van Niekerk) and NOON DAY GUN (A Arries), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Shortly after the start EMPIRE STATE (A Domeyer) and NOON DAY GUN (A Arries), which pulled hard in the early stages, had to be steadied when racing tight on the inside of ARISTOTLE (G van Niekerk), which was hanging in and shifted in slightly. As a consequence, EMPIRE STATE (A Domeyer) lost position. 
b)	For a short distance leaving the 500m EMPIRE STATE (A Domeyer) was held up behind a tiring WORLD OF PLEASURE (S Veale). Thereafter, approaching the 300m EMPIRE STATE (A Domeyer) was momentarily inconvenienced when close to the heels of BIG UNIT (L Mxothwa), which shifted in away from NOON DAY GUN (A Arries), which was close to the heels of INDECENT PROPOSAL (C Orffer).
c)	ARISTOTLE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (SC)
