THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WOLF MOUNTAIN (P Strydom) stumbled inwards leaving the stalls. b) LEGEND OF ARTHUR (R Fourie) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) THE SPECIALIST (G Lerena) over-raced in the early and middle stages. b) At the 300m, FIRE ATTACK (C Habib) was directed outwards to secure a clear run on the outside of MOONLIGHT TRADER (P Mxoli). Shortly thereafter, FIRE ATTACK (C Habib) was carried out marginally by MOONLIGHT TRADER (P Mxoli), which rolled out suddenly. During this incident, LEGEND OF ARTHUR (R Fourie) was bumped outwards. c) In view of the performance of THE SPECIALIST (G Lerena), (distance 10,00 lengths, betting 17/10), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. Trainer S G Tarry was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of THE SPECIALIST on return to stables. d) In view of the performance of ZIP CODE (R A Venniker), (distance 11,50 lengths, betting 33/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) MOONLIGHT TRADER (P Mxoli), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
