THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BAO LA (M V'Rensburg) jumped awkwardly. Lost 1 length. b) JEANNE DARC (S Veale) and SHINY SILVA (A Mgudlwa) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 350m JEANNE DARC (S Veale) was switched to the outside of DYNASTY'S LAST (C Maujean) to continue its run. b) Leaving the 300m SONATA SAMARITAN (S Hlengwa) was brushed on two occasions by QUEEN OF ICE (J Jacobs) which had come to the end of its run and rolled out. c) At the 200m DYNASTY'S LAST (C Maujean) was steadied momentarily when tightened between SONATA SAMARITAN (S Hlengwa) and JEANNE DARC (S Veale) which raced green, was hanging in from the 300m, shifted in and was immediately corrected. Thereafter between the 100m and the 50m GETOFFOFMYCLOUD (C Zackey) was carried in by JEANNE DARC (S Veale) which continued to hang in. d) SONATA SAMARITAN (S Hlengwa) hung in, in the concluding stages. e) In view of the performance of QUEEN OF ICE (J Jacobs) (10.75 lengths, 25/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) GETOFFOFMYCLOUD (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
