Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GREENLIGHT LEGEND (R Fourie), which was restless in the stalls, jumped inwards and made contact with the front gate leaving the stalls, losing one length. During this incident, a small part of the Monty Roberts blanket, which is used on this filly as part of her loading procedure, broke off and became attached to Jockey R Fourie's boot. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 300m LAVENDER BAY (C Orffer) had to be steadied when awkwardly placed between the heels of a tiring EXPEDITION SOUTH (JP van der Merwe) and DARLING GIRL (K Steyn), which shifted in away from the crop. PLAYFUL JOULES (C Zackey), which was following, was directed inwards as a consequence. b) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with EXPEDITION SOUTH and he did not persevere with his riding from the 150m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) FORGOTTEN SONG, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised.
