Stipes Report
THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE STARTING STALLS HAVING TO BE REPOSITIONED ON THE TRACK. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RED SPARROW (G Lerena) was stubborn loading and thereafter slow into stride. b) SAUDI SWEEP (C Habib) reared in the stalls. c) LADY FORTEZZA (J Penny), LIKE A PRAYER (C Maujean) and SWEET SOPHIA (D De Gouveia) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey C Habib reported that SAUDI SWEEP made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) Apprentice T Mayhew was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of ASIAH'S TIARA, misused his crop by striking this filly more than twelve times (15) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Apprentice T Mayhew signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R7500 was imposed. c) SONIC JET (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C J Lensley advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) INTRO was ridden by Jockey K A Brewer (declared 4 November 2024 at 09H21). b) FAN THE FLAME was carded to be ridden by Jockey J R Syster (declared 5 November 2024 at 08H02).
