THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO OKLAHOMA TWISTER (WES MARWING) BEING SUBJECT TO A LATE VETERINARY EXAMINATION AND SUBSEQUENTLY BEING SCRATCHED. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SKY PILLAR ROCK (C Maujean) was stubborn loading. b) MAJALUN (D De Gouveia) was slow losing two lengths. c) AFTERBURN (N Klink) and BLURRED VISION (*G Samo-Burthia) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the performance of MIZZEN SWORD (J Penny), (distance 14,25 lengths, betting 25/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) In view of the performance of AFTERBURN (N Klink) which was not persevered with from the 300m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. c) Jockey P Strydom (TOKYO MEDAGLIA) did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages. Thereafter, Jockey P Strydom reported that this gelding made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) ON TARGET (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A P Peter advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) BLURRED VISION was ridden by Apprentice G Samo-Burthia (declared 4 November 2024 at 09H24). b) TOKYO MEDAGLIA was ridden by Jockey P Strydom (declared 5 November 2024 at 07H46).
