THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO A POWER OUTAGE TO THE VAAL RACECOURSE AS WELL AS BLIZZARD SNOW (G LERENA) and RAINING RUBIES (J R SYSTER) PROVING STUBBORN LOADING. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLIZZARD SNOW (G Lerena) was stubborn loading. Trainer A P Peter was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (GT). b) RAINING RUBIES (J R Syster) was stubborn loading and thereafter jumped inwards leaving the stalls. Trainer H van der Westhuizen was advised to reschool this mare prior to her next engagement (GT). c) Shortly after the start, GLAWARI (J Penny) and MIX THE MAGIC (P Mxoli) came together and bumped. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, BLIZZARD SNOW (G Lerena) and STRIKING ANGEL (K Matsunyane), came together and bumped when awkwardly placed between DANCING DORA (J Gates) and RAINING RUBIES (J R Syster), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) In view of the performance of STRIKING ANGEL (K Matsunyane), (distance 11,75 lengths, betting 6/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) In view of the performance of INVENTRIX (R Danielson), (distance 16,25 lengths, betting 20/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) WE WILL ROCK YOU (M van Rensburg), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Spies advised (MduP). e) EXECUTRIX (C Habib), placed fourth, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
