Stipes Report
BUSSTOPINHOUNSLOW (P STRYDOM) PROVED RELUCTANT PROCEEDING TO THE START. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DUCHESS OF SEVILLE (K Matsunyane) was stubborn loading. b) PEAK PREDATOR (M K Katjedi) was restless in the stalls and thereafter slow into stride. c) LETS PLAY POKER (G Lerena), BUSSTOPINHOUNSLOW (P Strydom) and DWIGHT EISENHOWER (*T Mayhew) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BUSSTOPINHOUNSLOW (P Strydom) proved reluctant proceeding to the start and had to be led by a Handler. Trainer G J Maroun was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. b) DUCHESS OF SEVILLE (K Matsunyane) raced wide, without cover around the turn and into the straight. c) At approximately the 150m, CHIEFTAIN'S SHIELD (P Mxoli), which had come to the end of its run, was steadied momentarily between BUSSTOPINHOUNSLOW (P Strydom), which hung in from the 250m, and KWAGGA BLITZ (C Habib), which shifted out away from the crop. d) Jockey G Lerena reported that he felt something amiss with LETS PLAY POKER in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) BUSSTOPINHOUNSLOW (P Strydom), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G J Maroun advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) LETS PLAY POKER was ridden by Jockey G Lerena (declared 6 November 2024 at 14H33). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) LETS PLAY POKER not striding out right front. b) CHIEFTAIN'S SHIELD fatigued. c) PEAK PREDATOR mouth injury.
