Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TWICE AS WILD (P Mxoli) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) CALL ME MASTER (D Schwarz) and ODE TO THE OCEAN (M K Katjedi) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, BREGARDT (C Habib) was brushed in by TWICE AS WILD (P Mxoli), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) PHALA MILLIONS (L Nhlapo) hung out on the turn. c) Jockey C Habib reported that he felt something amiss with BREGARDT in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) The Stewards, in consolation with the National Riding Master, Mr R Moore, determined that Apprentice G Samo-Burthia's (TOGETHER AGAIN) ride in this race did not meet the criteria for a qualifying ride. He was advised that this decision was based on the evidence from Patrol film in that he had accidentally dropped his crop at the 200m. e) SAIL THE SKY (M van Rensburg), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C I Jonker advised (MduP). When questioned regarding the improved performance of this filly, Trainer C I Jonker could offer the Board no suitable explanation. His attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to In and Out running. JOCKEY CHANGES: a) PACIFIC was ridden by Jockey K A Brewer (declared 3 November 2024 at 09H21). b) BREGARDT was ridden by Jockey C Habib (declared 7 November 2024 at 13H40). c) SMELTING: Jockey C Zackey weighed out at 55,4kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) TOGETHER AGAIN raced equipped with alumites in front, unshod behind and without a tongue tie (declared 5 November 2024 at 15H51).
