Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) On arrival at the start, Jockey G Wright expressed concerned with the bit fitted to BEIRA, which could not be corrected. As a consequence, the bridle was replaced. This resulted in a delay to the start of this race. This was brought to Trainer B Crawford's attention. b) KLEINZEE (A Domeyer), MISS MACKIE (C Orffer) and VALLEYOFTHEDOLLS (S Veale) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 400m KORTVANDRAAD (A Arries) was steadied briefly when awkwardly placed on the inside of BENEATH THE CLOUDS (R Fourie). b) TIMELINE (O Noach) raced wide without cover on the turn and into the straight. c) KLEINZEE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised.
