Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	PLUS FOUR (A Andrews) and BARDOLINO (M Mjoka) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	TOUCHDOWN (JP van der Merwe) raced wide on the turn and into the straight.
b)	At the 350m HOODIA (C Orffer) was steadied briefly when unable to secure a clear run between MIDWAY (R Khathi) and SAIL THE SEAS (R Fourie).
c)	At the 200m TSUNAMI WARNING (C Bantam) was momentarily held up behind a tiring MIDWAY (R Khathi).
d)	At the 150m SAIL THE SEAS (R Fourie) was carried out marginally by HAPPY DAYS (S Veale), which rolled out. Thereafter HAPPY DAYS (S Veale) shifted in away from the crop and had to be corrected.
e)	Jockeys A Andrews and M Mjoka reported that PLUS FOUR and BARDOLINO respectively did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings.
f)	Jockey C Bantam was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Guideline 3; Appendix E) in that he mis-used his crop by striking TSUNAMI WARNING forward of the saddle at the 150m. Jockey C Bantam signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 000.00.
g)	SAIL THE SEAS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (TJ)
