THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SPOIL YOURSELF (G Wright) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) FAMILY POWER (G van Niekerk) was hanging out from the 300m. b) Approaching the 200m PINK PIGEON (R Fourie) was steadied when awkwardly placed between QHAWEKAZI (M Mjoka) and WUGUG (A Arries), which was hanging out and shifted out slightly. c) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that FIGURE EIGHT felt uncomfortable in its action and he did not persevere with his riding in the straight. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey A Andrews reported that GRANDIOSA changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) SCARLET MACAW, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised.
