Stipes Report
The start of this race was delayed due to NATYAM (G Lerena) having the tongue tie refitted at the start. Light rain fell during the running of this race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) NATYAM (G Lerena), POSITIVE ATTITUDE (R A Venniker) and CAPE EAGLE (S Moodley) were stubborn to load. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 1100m QUEUE WING (S Hlengwa) was carried out by GRANDI ORECCHIE (*M Mbuto) which over-raced in the early and middle stages, proving difficult to settle and shifted out. Thereafter GRANDI ORECCHIE (*M Mbuto) raced wide around the turn. b) At the 50m Jockey S Hlengwa's (QUEUE WING) crop flap became detached. Jockey S Hlengwa's crop was inspected by the Stewards and found to be in otherwise satisfactory condition. c) In view of the performance of QUANTIFIER (M V'Rensburg) (15.10 lengths, 20/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) NATYAM (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
