Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) THOMAS JENKINS (K Steyn) was restless in the stalls. b) GREEN PLANET (G Wright) jumped awkwardly, losing one length. c) TENPENNY (JP van der Merwe) and GREENLIGHT JET (*I Taka) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After being dislodged at the start of Race 1, Jockey G Lerena was examined by the course Medical Officer and cleared fit to fulfil his remaining engagements. b) The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. c) Shortly after the start LANDOFTHERISINGSUN (R Fourie) and COUNT WILLIAM (D Schwarz) made contact when both horses shifted ground marginally. d) DISTRICT MASTER (D Ashby) raced wide on the latter part of the turn and into the straight. e) Leaving the 300m MARINE MERCHANT (A Domeyer) was steadied and directed inwards when awkwardly placed on the inside of REAL STUNNER (K Matsunyane), which shifted in and was immediately straightened. f) In view of the performance of MARINE MERCHANT (A Domeyer), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. g) RICH FOLKS HOAX, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
