THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	WILLIE JOHN (G Wright) and CHEEKY LADDIE (C Zackey) jumped slow, losing one length.
b)	SCALINI (O Noach) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race.
b)	POWERANDTHEGLORY (R Fourie) was hanging out in the straight.
c)	Leaving the 200m WILLIE JOHN (G Wright) and BIG UNIT (K Matsunyane) brushed on two occasions when both horses shifted ground marginally.
d)	KING OF SPIN (M Mjoka) shifted out away from the crop in the latter stages.
e)	Jockey R Fourie was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Guideline 3; Appendix E) in that he mis-used his crop by striking POWERANDTHE GLORY forward of the saddle at the 200m. Jockey R Fourie signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 000.00.
f)	BIG UNIT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised. (TJ)
