THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PAVED WITH GOLD (C Zackey) and PRINCE OF ASIA (T Godden) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) WHEREVERILAYMYHAT (A Mgudlwa) hung out from the 400m and shifted out between the 300m and the 100m. b) GRAND APPEAL (N Patel) raced green and hung in from the 250m, and thereafter in the concluding stages was switched to the outside of CAPTAINSHIP (M V'Rensburg) to continue its run. c) PAVED WITH GOLD (C Zackey) raced green and hung in, in the concluding stages. d) Shortly before the finish THE GOLDEN GOAL (*B Plaatjies) was carried in marginally by CAPTAINSHIP (M V'Rensburg) which rolled in. e) In view of the performance of PRINCE OF ASIA (T Godden) (15.25 lengths, 25/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) WHEREVERILAYMYHAT (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
