THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Approaching the 100m I SALUTE YOU (G Lerena) was bumped by MVELELO (S Moodley) which, when racing in close proximity to I SALUTE YOU (G Lerena), shifted in away from the crop. As a result I SALUTE YOU (G Lerena) and MVELELO (S Moodley) became unbalanced and made contact on a further two occasions. Leaving the 50m I SALUTE YOU (G Lerena) and MVELELO (S Moodley) came together and bumped resulting in I SALUTE YOU (G Lerena) becoming unbalanced and being turned out. A race review was called into this incident by a Stipendiary Steward followed by an Objection being lodged by Jockey S Moodley on behalf of the second placed horse, MVELELO, against the winner I SALUTE YOU (G Lerena) on the grounds of interference over the final 200m. After considering the above report, the Objection was overruled and the Judge's result was allowed to stand. Jockey Moodley's deposit was refunded. b) Jockey S Veale reported that LUCKY DOLLAR took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) In view of the performance of RUN TO RIO (T Godden) (16.25 lengths, 14/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) I SALUTE YOU (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P B Muscutt advised (SP). e) MVELELO (S Moodley), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M F De Kock advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) LUCKY DOLLAR : Nothing obvious detected. b) RUN TO RIO : Nothing obvious detected. c) TYRCONNELL : Abnormal respiratory noise. d) BOM BOM : Abnormal respiratory noise and returned post-race having cast the right hind shoe.
