THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ARCTIC FURY (R A Venniker) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) TWILIGHT BAY (M Thackeray) over-raced in the early stages. b) At approximately the 1700m LEMON SCENT (*D Pillay) had to steady when awkwardly placed between SANBEENEE (S Hlengwa) which rolled out and YELLOW JACKET (S Moodley) which rolled in. c) LEMON SCENT (*D Pillay) raced wide and without cover around the turn. d) Shortly before the finish ARCTIC FURY (R A Venniker) shifted out sharply for no apparent reason. e) In view of the performance of TWILIGHT BAY (M Thackeray) (8.70 lengths, 11/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Assistant Trainer C Eudey will be asked to report back on the condition of TWILIGHT BAY upon return to stable. f) ARCTIC FURY (R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
