THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FAIRE ADVANTAGE (R A Venniker) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start FOREST JUMP (K Matsunyane) and NATIONAL AWARD (M Thackeray) came together and brushed. Shortly thereafter NATIONAL AWARD (M Thackeray) and NOTABLE (C Habib) came together and brushed. b) At approximately the 1200m NOBLE WARRIOR (S Moodley) which commenced to over-race had to switch out to avoid running onto the heels of WAVE WARRIOR (A Mgudlwa). c) BRAVE BOMBER (T Godden) hung out from the 350m. d) WAVE WARRIOR (A Mgudlwa) hung in from the 300m to the 200m. e) At the 250m NATIONAL AWARD (M Thackeray) shifted out away from the crop. f) FOREST JUMP (K Matsunyane) hung out in the concluding stages. g) Jockey C Habib reported that he felt something amiss with NOTABLE in the straight and as a result he did not persevere with his ride from the 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. h) FAIRE ADVANTAGE (R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
