Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	Jockey M van Rensburg expressed concern with HAT HOT HAT'S action while proceeding to the start. This gelding was examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon on arrival at the start and withdrawn.
b)	MR BELVEDERE (D Schwarz) was nervous in the stalls.
c)	AXIS POWER (S Khathi) was nervous in the stalls and jumped slow, losing one length.
d)	AMERICAN PITBULL (J Gates) was slow into stride.
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	CHALICE FORT (K Steyn) refused to raise a gallop from approximately the 1000m and raced detached from the field. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
	Trainer DA McKenzie was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables.
b)	MR BELVEDERE was steadied for a number of strides off the heels of SIERRA SKY (E Webber), which shifted inwards slightly at approximately the 1100m.
c)	SMART VIEW (C Maujean) shifted out away from the crop at the 200m and was corrected.
d)	SUPER CASANOVA (K Matsunyane) was hanging in from the 200m and was corrected.
e)	Jockey K Minnie reported that DIRTY MIMOSA changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
	Trainer JVA Strydom was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables.
f)	MR BELVEDERE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JP Nel was advised. (LM)
g)	STORMSTRIDE, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised. (LM)
