THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	GOLD GUNNER (K Matsunyane) was stubborn loading.
b)	LENNOXTOWN (K Minnie) was nervous in the stalls and jumped awkwardly, losing one length.
c)	FOUR JACKS (C Habib) and MISTER WHISTLE (J Gates) jumped slow, losing one length.
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	MORNING CHESS (D Schwarz) over raced in the early and middle stages.
b)	Leaving the 400m GOLD GUNNER (K Matsunyane) had to be steadied off the heels of MEETATTHEWINDSOR (X Ndlovu), which shifted inwards. Thereafter, approaching the 200m, GOLD GUNNER (K Matsunyane) had to be switched in off the heels of MEETATTHEWINDSOR (X Ndlovu), which shifted out slightly.
c)	Jockey D Schwarz reported that he felt something amiss with MORNING CHESS and he eased this gelding out of the race at the 300m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
d)	JACK IN THE GREEN (R Fourie) was hanging in from the 200m.
e)	MORNING CHESS (D Schwarz) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr K Davis)
f)	Jockey E Webber was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of UNION ROSE he misused his crop by striking UNION ROSE more than 12 times (15) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey E Webber signed an admission of guilt and was fined R10 000,00. 
g)	JACK IN THE GREEN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM)
h)	UNION ROSE, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised. (LM)
