Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SOUND OF THE SEA (A Arries) jumped outwards. b) SPIRIT'S UNITE (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length. c) BILLY COOL (C Orffer) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start UNICORN ALERT (JP van der Merwe) lost position when bumped on both sides by SOUND OF THE SEA (A Arries), which jumped outwards and KEBONALESED (A Mgudlwa), which shifted in. b) BILLY COOL (C Orffer) was hanging out from the 1000m and, as a consequence, raced wide on the turn and into the straight. Thereafter, BILLY COOL (C Orffer) continued to hang outwards and was not persevered with in the latter stages. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) At the 450m SPIRIT'S UNITE (R Fourie) had to be steadied when unable to secure clear running between the inside running rail and SON OF ZEUS (C Little). d) WORLD OF PLEASURE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised. (SC) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) Nil RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER a) Nil THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) BILLY COOL - examined post-race.
