THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO BRIDGE OF SPIES (J R SYSTER) BEING SUBJECT TO A LATE VETERINARY EXAMINATION AND SUBSEQUENTLY BEING SCRATCHED.

THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS. 

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	Approaching the 200m, VEGAS HI RISE (J Gates) was steadied when racing into restricted galloping room between the outside running rail and CORNWALL (K A Brewer), which rolled out and was corrected. 
b)	In the concluding stages, AMPERSAND (*G Dookhit) was carried out by PASSAGE OF POWER (R A Venniker), which hung out and shifted out away from the crop from the 200m. As a consequence, SECRET CHORD (*T Mayhew), which was racing on the heels of AMPERSAND (*G Dookhit) was steadied shortly before the finish line. 
	Jockey R A Venniker appeared before the Board and was advised to take the necessary corrective measures sooner to keep her mounts straight in races.
c)	Trainer D C Pretorius was charged with a contravention of Rule 57.1.2 in that he failed to ensure BRIDGE OF SPIES was presented at the Racecourse at least 60 minutes before the official starting time of the 8th race.   
Trainer D C Pretorius signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.   
d)	PASSAGE OF POWER (R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F P Habib advised (MduP).
	
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a)	BRIDGE OF SPIES was carded to be ridden by Jockey J R Syster (declared 19 November 2024 at 07H39).
