THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GREEDANDDESIRE (A Arries) and WINTER GAMBLE (A Domeyer) were restless in the stalls. b) LEAD TO GLORY (D Ashby) and STILL SPARKLING (O Noach) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with EXPEDITION SOUTH and he did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) Jockey A Domeyer reported that he felt something amiss with WINTER GAMBLE, which failed to respond to his urgings from the 500m and was not persevered with from the 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey G Wright reported that BENEATH THE CLOUDS did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey G Lerena appeared before the Board and was advised to refrain from using his crop with his crop arm above shoulder height. e) FRIDA KAHLO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
