THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	THE PROPRIETOR (C Bantam) jumped awkwardly.
b)	LUNCH MONEY (R Khathi) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride.
c)	LET IT BE SAID (R Fourie) and GOLDEN DESTINY (G van Niekerk) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Leaving the 200m ELIZABEDI GOLD (A Domeyer) and PRINCE OF TIBET (JP van der Merwe) were inconvenienced when racing on the inside of UNITED NATION (D Schwarz), which initially shifted in and then was carried inwards by INDECENT PROPOSAL (K Steyn), which was held up for a clear run behind GRAND BAY (T Godden) and was directed inwards to obtain clear running. Jockey K Steyn appeared before the Board and was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
b)	At the 400m UNITED NATION (D Schwarz) rolled in and brushed PRINCE OF TIBET (JP van der Merwe).
c)	Jockey A Domeyer reported that he felt something amiss with ELIZABEDI GOLD. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d)	Jockeys C Bantam and D Ashby, the riders of THE PROPRIETOR and SOOTY respectively, reported that these geldings did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
e)	O'TENIKWA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer WA Nel was advised. (SC)
