Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	SLINGS AND ARROWS (C Habib) fly-jumped leaving the stalls.
b)	BARZALONA (DB Geerthsen) and MO THE MAN (X Ndlovu) jumped slow, losing one length.
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	EL ROMIACHI recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level.
b)	TRAVEL MASTER recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer AC Greeff was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level.
c)	As the start was effected, TRAVEL MASTER lifted its front feet slightly higher off the ground, which resulted in Jockey K Minnie becoming unbalanced and his feet coming out of the stirrup irons and being dislodged.
	This precluded Jockey K Minnie from being able to weigh in. In terms of Rule 66.2 the Stewards were satisfied 	that TRAVEL MASTER had carried the correct weight.
d)	LT ALEXANDER (M Mjoka) stumbled leaving the stalls and again shortly thereafter.
e)	MO THE MAN (X Ndlovu) was hanging in from the 200m.
f)	MASKED VIGILANTE (R Fourie) was hanging in from the 150m.
g)	Jockey S Naidoo reported that UBISIKA did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
	Trainer 	GD Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables.
h)	EL ROMIACHI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised. (LM)
