Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	SILVER SANCTUARY (J P van der Merwe) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls.
b)	ROYAL VICTORY (G Lerena) and MY SOUL MATE (P Mxoli) were slow losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	Shortly after the start, MAIN DEFENDER (A Domeyer) and ATTICUS FINCH (C Habib) came together and bumped on three occasions.
b)	At approximately the 150m, ROYAL VICTORY (G Lerena) was carried out by RULE BY FORCE (T Godden), which was directed outwards in anticipation of being awkwardly placed on the outside of  PURPLE PITCHER (K Matsunyane), which rolled out and was corrected. 
	During this incident, ROYAL VICTORY (G Lerena) was placed in restricted galloping room and while attempting to relieve the pressure on his inside and keep his mount on a straight course whilst in a competitive position, he used his crop on a single occasion forward of the saddle. When assessing this matter, the Stewards advised him that even though his record regarding contraventions of this nature are substantial, they believed that the circumstances he found himself in were mitigatory enough to issue him with a fine of R1000 on this occasion and remind him of his obligation to abide to the rules pertaining to the use of the crop. 
Race 8 contd.

Jockey G Lerena was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E read with Guideline 3 on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking ROYAL VICTORY forward of the saddle in the concluding stages. Jockey G Lerena signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.   
c)	An inquiry will be opened into Jockey K Matsunyane's (PURPLE PITCHER) use of the crop during the running of this race.
d)	Jockey C Maujean reported that PURE PREDATOR did not stride out freely in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	
e)	Jockey D De Gouveia reported that BEATING WINGS made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. 	
f)	Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with HOTARUBI in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 
g)	ATTICUS FINCH (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.

h)	PURPLE PITCHER (K Matsunyane), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R Klaasen advised (MS).
i)	ZEUS (R A Venniker), unplaced, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.

JOCKEY CHANGES:
a)	PUERTO MANZANO (ARG) was ridden by Jockey A Mgudlwa (declared 21 November 2024 at 07H56).
