Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) BREEZE OVER (D De Gouveia) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) FLYING BULL (C Habib) commenced to give ground to the field from the 600m.
b) HOME OF THE BRAVE (P Mxoli) did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. Thereafter, Jockey P Mxoli reported that he felt something amiss with HOME OF THE BRAVE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
c) WOMAN'S WORLD (E Webber) proved difficult to settle in the early stages which led to Jockey E Webber's saddle slipping substantially forward and his lead bag being dislodged at the 2000m. This incident placed him at a severe disadvantage, and he eased this filly out of the race while making the home turn. After completing the race and upon him weighing back in, the Clerk of Scales established that he had weighed in at 52,8kg, which was 700 grams below the weight at which he was declared out at (53,5kg), and lodged an objection against WOMAN'S WORLD in terms of NHA Rule 68.2.11 After giving regard to the evidence, the objection was upheld and in terms of Rule 69.7, WOMAN'S WORLD was disqualified. Jockey E Webber's equipment was checked by a member of the Stipendiary Board and found to be in good working order and the Stewards were satisfied that the circumstances of the race had led to this incident.
d) POETS WARRIOR (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
