THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE 30-MINUTE INTERVAL BETWEEN RACES 10 AND 11 AS WELL AS A LOOSE HORSE HAVING TO BE TAKEN IN HAND IN THE BACK PARADE RING. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SALUTE THE FLAG (S Moodley) was restless in the stalls. b) MOOLA MAN (D De Gouveia) jumped awkwardly outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the performance of CHAMPION WARRIOR (P Strydom), (distance 8,25 lengths, betting 6/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) In view of the performance of MASTERSHIP (C Maujean), (distance 16,00 lengths, betting 5/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) CAPTAINOFTHEGREEN (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F P Habib advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) SALUTE THE FLAG: Jockey S Moodley weighed out at 52,5kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None.
