Stipes Report
ON ARRIVAL AT THE START THE TONGUE TIE ON CHILLI MARMALADE (N KLINK) HAD TO BE REFITTED AND TAKE YOUR PLACE (P STRYDOM) WAS SUBJECT TO A LATE VETERINARY EXAMINATION AND DECLARED FIT TO RACE. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THEREAFTER, DURING THE LOADING PROCESS, CAPE SAFFRON (*T MAYHEW) BECAME RESTLESS, AND WHILE ATTEMPTING TO BREAK THROUGH THE FRONT GATES, GOT CAUGHT UP IN THE STALLS. THIS FILLY WAS RELEASED FROM THE STALLS, EXAMINED BY THE COURSE VETERINARY SURGEON AND SUBSEQUENTLY SCRATCHED. THIS INCIDENT CAUSED A FURTHER DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GIMME A GREEN CARD (C Habib) was stubborn loading. Trainer D Nieuwenhuizen was advised to reschool this filly before her next engagement (GT). b) LILAC SNOW (G Lerena) was stubborn loading. c) CAPE SAFFRON (*T Mayhew) became unruly and got caught up in the stalls. This filly was removed from the stalls, examined by the Course Veterinary Surgeon and subsequently scratched. The starting stall certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. Assistant Trainer N Titise, acting on behalf of Trainer S T Pettigrew, was advised (GT). d) CHILLI MARMALADE (N Klink) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. e) GREGARIOUS (P Mxoli) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. f) MRS WONDERFUL (L Nhlapo) and STERLING SILVER (*G Samo-Burthia) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GIMME A GREEN CARD (C Habib) and STERLING SILVER (*G Samo-Burthia) raced green. b) MRS WONDERFUL (L Nhlapo) failed to muster speed on debut and trailed the field throughout. Thereafter, Jockey L Nhlapo reported that he felt something amiss with this filly in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) CHILLI MARMALADE (N Klink) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the heels of DIAMOND DASH (J R Syster), which shifted in away from the crop at the 100m. d) In view of the Starter's report with regard to CAPE SAFFRON, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and this filly is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 4 December 2024 to 10 December 2024. CAPE SAFFRON may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Assistant Trainer N Titise, acting on behalf of Trainer S T Pettigrew, was advised. e) TAKE YOUR PLACE (P Strydom), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee P de Palma, acting on behalf of Trainer S J Gray, was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) SHESAROCKET raced with a tongue tie on (declared 2 December 2024 at 09H55). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) MRS WONDERFUL not striding out right front.
