Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TAMBOURINE MAN (G van Niekerk) jumped awkwardly, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 200m GRAVITY (S Cele) was carried inwards and bumped LOVERS LANE (C Little), which resulted in both these horses becoming unbalanced and having to be steadied for a number of strides when TAMBOURINE MAN (G van Niekerk) was directed inwards and into clear running when not sufficiently clear. Jockey G van Niekerk was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of TAMBOURINE MAN he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to GRAVITY and LOVERS LANE when he shifted in at the 200M. Jockey G van Niekerk signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 10 days. (Dates: 15/12/2024 to 24/12/2024) b) Jockey R Fourie (XPLICIT CONTENT) was dislodged in the pull-up area. This precluded Jockey R Fourie from being able to weigh in. In terms of Rule 66.2 the Stewards were satisfied that XPLICIT CONTENT had carried the correct weight. c) ROUGAROUIN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised.
