THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TOTTS GIRL (R Khathi) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ALEX MILLER (A Domeyer) was carried in and then had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the inside of TAP SHOES (G van Niekerk), which shifted in approaching the 50m. Jockey G van Niekerk was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of TAP SHOES he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to ALEX MILLER when he shifted in at the 50m. Jockey G van Niekerk signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates: 25/12/2024 to 31/12/2024) b) An Inquiry will be held to establish why BLIND AMBITION (O Noach), MEURSAULT (A Arries) and SPINMYANGELSPIN (C Orffer) suffered varying degrees of interference while racing on the inside of WHITE WATERS (S Veale) leaving the 50m. c) Jockey A Arries was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Guideline 3; Appendix E) in that he mis- used his crop by striking MERSAULT forward of the saddle in the latter stages. Jockey A Arries signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 000.00. d) TAP SHOES, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
