THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	AMERICAN PITBULL (J Gates) was stubborn loading.
b)	TORNADO KING (K Minnie) was nervous in the stalls.
c)	MAN OF STEEL (S Naidoo) jumped slow, losing one length.
d)	VELVET VALOUR (KA Brewer), DECREE (M van Rensburg) and LIKE A BUTTERFLY (S Khathi) were slow into stride.	
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	The start of this race was delayed due to logistical issues, accompanied by the starting stalls being positioned onto the track late.
b)	MAN OF STEEL (S Naidoo) raced green and shifted out away from the crop from the 350m.
c)	WORLD SOPRANO (C Zackey) had to steady momentarily off the heels of GLEN NEVIS (C Maujean) and had to be switched out at the 600m.
d)	MILLION REASONS (E Webber) was switched out for no apparent reason at approximately the 300m. Jockey E Webber appeared before the Board and was questioned as to the reason he had switched out when it was clear that he had sufficient room to ride his mount straight. Jockey E Webber was advised to ride his mounts in an appropriate manner in future engagements and not switch his mount out when it is unnecessary to do so.
e)	In view of the performance of GLEN NEVIS (C Maujean), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
	Trainer TJ Laing was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this colt on his return to the stables.
f)	MAN OF COURAGE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM)
g)	MILLION REASONS, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised. (LM)
