THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AWAY WITH RED (K Matsunyane) was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls and jumped outwards. b) JOVIAL (C Zackey) jumped awkwardly. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey R Fourie had to steady ALL ABOUT LOVE behind GENTEEL (KA Brewer), which shifted outwards slightly and VISIONARY DREAMER (K Steyn), which shifted inwards slightly and thereafter Jockey R Fourie tucked ALL ABOUT LOVE in at the back of the field. Subsequently, ALL ABOUT LOVE (R Fourie) did not respond to Jockey R Fourie's urgings for a furlong and a half and only joined the rest of the field at approximately the 800m. b) SHOUT AT THE MOON (E Webber) shifted outwards sharply away from the crop at approximately the 250m. c) Trainer GD Smith will be questioned with regard to JOVIAL's (C Zackey) improved performance. d) JOVIAL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer DG Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer GD Smith, was advised. (LM) e) ALL ABOUT LOVE, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
