Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GARRIX (A Domeyer) was restless in the stalls, taken out, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded. b) DANCINGTOTHELIGHT (C Orffer) and LEGAL COUNSEL (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GIVETHATMANABELLS (M Mjoka) and LEGAL COUNSEL (R Fourie) pulled hard in the early stages. b) DEVIL A SAINT (*I Taka) raced wide without cover on the turn and into the straight. c) Leaving the 600m MASTER OF PARIS (G van Niekerk) was directed outwards and towards the outside of the racecourse. d) The saddle on MASTER OF PARIS slipped back in running, placing Jockey G van Niekerk at a disadvantage. This was confirmed on the video footage. e) At the 200m Jockey C Zackey (RICH FOLKS HOAX) hesitated with his riding when awkwardly placed between the heels of DANCINGTOTHELIGHT (C Orffer), which was hanging out and COMMANDING (C Little), which rolled in marginally. f) In view of the performance of DIABLO (G Wright), which was not persevered with in the latter stages, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. g) In view of the report from the Starter regarding GARRIX (A Domeyer), Trainer ELP Steyn will be advised to have this colt re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. h) GARRIX, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer ELP Steyn was advised.
