Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SIR POM (*K Brewer) stood losing many lengths. b) PEDRO (*G Pieterse) and DANDOLO (*C Dicken) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to SIR POM (*K Brewer), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 21.03.22 to the 27.03.22. SIR POM may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer K Naidoo was advised. (TM) b) At the 250m, SAV'S STAR (M Yeni) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the heels of AFRICAN SKYLINE (*S Hlengwa) which was hanging in badly proving difficult to assist. The Stipendiary Board was satisfied that Apprentice S Hlengwa made several attempts to straighten this gelding and therefore deemed this as a racing incident. c) Jockey S Moodley reported that EDGARTOWN did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) LUNARCAM (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer S Ferrie acting on behalf of Trainer D R Drier advised (DZ). e) CANADIAN BOLT (*M Katjedi), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R Hill advised (HM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) EDGARTOWN : Nothing obvious detected. b) FLY THE COUP : Abnormal respiratory noise and returned post-race having cast the left hind shoe. c) CANADIAN BOLT : Abnormal respiratory noise. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
