THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO A TECHNICAL ISSUE WITH THE HAWK-EYE SYSTEM 

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	RATTLE BAG (*T Mayhew) and NEW MEXICO (C Habib) were slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	Approaching the 1200m, LIBECCIO (P Mxoli) was squeezed out when awkwardly placed between PURPLENINJATURTLE (L Nhlapo) and HAIR TRIGGER (R Danielson), which rolled in and was corrected. 
b)	Leaving the 200m, HAIR TRIGGER (R Danielson), which had come to the end of its run, steadied momentarily in anticipation of being awkwardly placed on the heels of PRESSONREGARDLESS (D De Gouveia), which was carried in by FOSTINOVO (M van Rensburg), which was directed inwards away from the heels of MK'S DREAMS (K A Brewer), which commenced to hang in. 
c)	Jockey L Nhlapo was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E read with Guideline 3 on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking PURPLENINJATURTLE forward of the saddle in the concluding stages. 
Jockey L Nhlapo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.   
d)	Jockey R Danielson reported that he felt something amiss with HAIR TRIGGER in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 		
e)	MK'S DREAMS (K A Brewer), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.	
Stable Employee M Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer A P Peter, was advised (MS).	
	
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a)	PRESSONREGARDLESS was ridden by Jockey	 D De Gouveia (declared 3 December 2024 at 14H14).
