Stipes Report
SHORTLY BEFORE THE START WAS EFFECTED, COPPER FIRE (N TAKAWIRA), IN STALL GATE 1, PREEMPTED THE START AND BROKE THROUGH THE FRONT GATE. THE STARTER SIGNALLED A FALSE START. ALL RUNNERS WERE RESTRAINED BY THEIR RIDERS', RETURNED TO THE START, EXAMINED BY THE COURSE VETERINARY SURGEON, PASSED FIT TO RACE AND RELOADED. THIS INCIDENT CAUSED A SIGNIFICANT DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Shortly before the start was effected, COPPER FIRE (N Takawira) pre-empted the start and broke through the front gates. The starting stall certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. Trainer D Swanson was advised (WD). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to COPPER FIRE, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion on a Raceday. TRUSTFALL may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer D Swanson was advised. b) KING'S CROWN (K Derere), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Swanson advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) DUCHESS OF WAR raced equipped with ear muffs (declared 8 December 2024 at 10H07). THE VETERINARY SURGEON HAD NO REPORTS. SCRATCHED: a) PRINCE OF DENMARK bolted the course - immediate reinstatement (NHA).
