THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Leaving the starting stalls GREENLITEALLTHEWAY (C F Dicken) was bumped in by SAFE AND SOUND (K Matsunyane) which jumped in. b) Approaching the 1000m GORGEOUS GIRL (C Habib) was steadied momentarily when close to the heels of MOUNTAINSOFTHEMOON (D Daniels) which rolled in. Jockey D Daniels (MOUNTAINSOFTHEMOON) appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to take more care. c) In the concluding stages FAIZAH (M V'Rensburg) had to steady when close to the heels of MOUNTAINSOFTHEMOON (D Daniels) which rolled out marginally. d) In view of the performances of GORGEOUS GIRL (C Habib) (6.90 lengths, 13/2 in the betting) and FAIZAH (M V'Rensburg) (6.30 lengths, 33/10 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) SAFE AND SOUND (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
