Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HUNGA TONGA (G Wright) was stubborn loading. b) AM STILL WINNING (K Steyn) was restless in the stalls. c) CONSCIENTIOUS (C Orffer) jumped slow, losing one length. d) MS PATTY (C Zackey) took an awkward stride leaving the stalls, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After being dislodged in Race 3, Jockey K Steyn was examined by the course Medical Officer and passed fit to continue riding. b) RAHHABBA (A Andrews) proved difficult to settle in the early and middle stages. c) Jockey G Wright reported that he felt something amiss with HUNGA TONGA. In view of this filly's performance, Trainer MH Maingard was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. d) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that STILL TOGETHER felt uncomfortable in its action. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding HUNGA TONGA (G Wright), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 12/12/2024 to 18/12/2024 inclusive). HUNGA TONGA may not be presented for re-passing during this period. f) EXQUISITE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer B Donnelly, acting on behalf of Trainers B Crawford/J Crawford, was advised.
