Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) QUICK RESPONSE (D De Gouveia) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 200m, BRAVE VOYAGER (C Zackey) was carried in marginally by BELLE'S FIRST WAVE (*G Pieterse) which shifted in away from the crop and was then straightened. b) Jockey S Moodley reported that ALPENHORN did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Trainer K Naidoo appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the improved performance of OH MY WORD ITS ROY. He explained that the change of tactics of dropping this gelding out and to obtain cover early had attributed to the improvement shown. Trainer K Naidoo further undertook to race OH MY WORD ITS ROY in a similar manner in the near future. The Board noted the explanation and advised Mr Naidoo that should there be any change of tactics, it must be brought to the attention of the Stipendiary Board prior to the horse's run. d) OH MY WORD ITS ROY (*K Brewer), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Naidoo advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) CAPTAIN NITS raced with a compression mask. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) ALPENHORN : Not striding out left front. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
