THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	POTENT CAPTAIN (C Maujean) was stubborn loading.
b)	FUJISAN (S Khathi) was nervous in the stalls and slow into stride.
c)	GLOBETONIC (S Naidoo), WAR LAUNCH (K Matsunyane) and MISTER WHISTLE (E Webber) were slow into stride.
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	At approximately the 200m FUSISAN (S Khathi), which was tiring, had to be steadied off the heels of ABSOLU NOIR (J Gates), which shifted inwards when coming to the end of its run.
b)	In view of the performance of LADY LUCK (D Schwarz), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
	Trainer JP Nel was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables.
c)	Jockey M van Rensburg reported that he felt something amiss with AXEL COLLINS and he did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d)	Jockey E Webber was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Guideline 3; Appendix E) in that he mis-	used his crop by striking MISTER WHISTLE in front of the saddle at the 250m. Jockey E Webber signed an 	admission of guilt and was fined R1 000.00.
e)	AMERICAN DREAM, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer DG Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer GD Smith, was advised. (LM)
f)	BELOW DECK, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM)
