THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PURPLE POWAHOUSE (K de Melo) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) PURPLE POWAHOUSE (K de Melo) which was ridden inwards, was continuously baulked for a clear run between the 250m and the 150m on the inside of LULU'S BOY (D Schwarz) which had come to the end of its run and shifted in abruptly away from LESLIES PATHTOFAME (M Yeni). As a consequence of this incident, LULU'S BOY (D Schwarz) became unbalanced after bumping PURPLE POWAHOUSE (K de Melo). b) In view of the performance of BERNIE'S DREAM (*C Dicken) (3.45 lengths, 7/2 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) WE ALL CHOMIES (*K Brewer), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Naidoo advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) COUNT MARSH raced equipped with blinkers (advised 20.03.22/9h15). b) JOSHUA HOTSNAKE Jockey D Dillon weighed out at 56.8kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight of 56kg. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) TWO OF US : Cut into left hind. b) BERNIE'S DREAM : Nothing obvious detected. c) PURPLE POWAHOUSE : Fatigued. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
