Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	SMART HORSE (S Veale) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride.
b)	LANDOFTHERISINGSUN (R Fourie) and TUNGUSKA (T Godden) made contact leaving the stalls.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Shortly after the start COUNT WILLIAM (G Wright) and IT IS MY TIME (*I Taka) made heavy contact when both horses shifted ground sharply leaving the stalls. As a consequence, Jockey G Wright was severely unbalanced and was very nearly dislodged. While regaining his balance, Jockey G Wright over corrected COUNT WILLIAM, which made contact with IT IS MY TIME (*I Taka) on a second occasion. Thereafter, COUNT WILLIAM raced wide on the bend and into the straight. 
b)	LANDOFTHERISINGSUN (R Fourie) pulled hard in the early and middle stages.
c)	Jockey K Matsunyane reported that CROWNED HORNBILL, which over raced in the early stages, choked up in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
d)	At the 200m ARIBTRATION (G van Niekerk) and TENPENNY (JP van der Merwe) were both carried inwards marginally by LANDOFTHERISINGSUN (R Fourie), which shifted in away from crop and was immediately straightened. Shortly thereafter, Jockey G van Niekerk (ARBITRATION) briefly dropped his right-side rein and had to be steadied for a number of strides.
e)	An Inquiry will be held into Jockey C Little's (HOSPICES DE BEAUNE) use of the crop.
f)	GREEN GARNET, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer AE Sands was advised. (KG)
