THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	Fair start.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	WAR CHARIOT (JP van der Merwe) was hanging in in the latter stages.
b)	RIVERSTONE (R Fourie) had difficulty securing clear running between the 350m and the 250m.
c)	Jockey G van Niekerk reported that HANDSOME PRINCE, which commenced to give ground to the field from the 350m and was not persevered with from the 200m, did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d)	Jockeys K Matsunyane, C Zackey and S Veale, the riders of SURGE OF POWER, SPEED RACER and MOJO MAN respectively, reported that these geldings did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
e)	Trainer PAW Botha was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate 	ESCARPMENT against Equine Influenza in accordance with the program of vaccinations as published from 	time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer PAW Botha signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined 	R1000.00.
f)	KAIBOY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised. (TL)
