Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	BJORN IRONSIDE (G Wright) and BOUNDLESS ENERGY (A Domeyer) jumped slow, losing one length.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Shortly after the start, HEATHER'S BOY (C Zackey) shifted in slightly and made contact with ON MY HONOUR (C Little), which in turn made contact with GREAT PLAINS (G van Niekerk). As a consequence, ONE STRIPE (G Lerena), which had initially shifted out, was brushed inwards.
b)	O'TENIKWA (C Orffer) commenced to over race in the middle stages.
c)	Upon entering the straight Jockey JP van der Merwe elected to direct SAIL THE SEAS to the outside of the racecourse.
d)	Leaving the 400m HEATHER'S BOY (C Zackey), which was hanging out, shifted out and carried ON MY HONOUR (C Little) and ONE STRIPE (G Lerena) outwards. Thereafter, ONE STRIPE (G Lerena) commenced to hang outwards until the finish.
e)	Jockeys C Zackey and A Domeyer, the riders of HEATHER'S BOY and BOUNDLESS ENERGY respectively, reported that these colts did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
f)	Jockey G Wright reported that BJORN IRONSIDE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
g)	An Inquiry will be held into Jockey R Fourie's (EIGHT ON EIGHTEEN) use of the crop.
h)	ONE STRIPE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer VH Marshall was advised. (KG)
i)	EIGHT ON EIGHTEEN, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Assistant Trainer C Snaith, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised. (DD)
