THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LIMELIGHT LEGEND (J Jacobs) and PROMISE OF FIRE (K Matsunyane) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start JAILHOUSE CAT (S Sosibo) ducked out for no apparent reason, dislodging Jockey S Sosibo. Jockey S Sosibo (JAILHOUSE CAT) was incapacitated from weighing back in. In terms of Rule 66.2, the Board deemed his weight to be correct. b) Leaving the 900m Jockey S Hlengwa (AGRADO) lost his footing to the right-side stirrup iron which he regained shortly thereafter. c) Leaving the 400m AGRADO (S Hlengwa) was switched out into a tight run between RAGNAR THE KING (C Habib) and BUTTERCUP BABY (G Lerena) which raced green and hung in throughout. d) RAGNAR THE KING (C Habib) commenced to hang out from the 350m. e) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss in the running with PAVED WITH GOLD. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) AGRADO (S Hlengwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G B Puller advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) LIMELIGHT LEGEND is a gelding : Gelded 31.01.2024. (Notification to be investigated) THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) PAVED WITH GOLD : Nothing obvious detected. THE MEDICAL OFFICER REPORTED : a) Jockey S Sosibo (JAILHOUSE CAT) was examined and found to have a soft tissue injury. Fit to ride.
