Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	MISTER MONOCLE (J Solomons) stood in the stalls as the start was effected, losing many lengths.
b)	KWITE A KING (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	The Stewards reviewed the start with regard to MISTER MONOCLE (J Solomons) in stall gate 12 and established that this gelding had stood, losing many lengths, as the start was effected. They were satisfied that this gelding had not been impeded and took no further action.
b)	PINOT GRICIO (G Wright) raced wide without cover until passing the 800m.
c)	PETTEIA (K Steyn) proved difficult to settle in the early stages and was hanging out in the straight.
d)	In view of the report from the Starter regarding MISTER MONOCLE (J Solomons), this gelding's starting stall 	certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as 	he proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 19/12/2024 to 25/12/2024 inclusive). 	MISTER MONOCLE may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
e)	Jockey K Steyn was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Guideline 3; Appendix E) in that he mis-	used his crop by striking PETTEIA forward of the saddle leaving the 400m. Jockey K Steyn signed an 	admission of guilt and was fined R1 000.00.
f)	GROOVEJET, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (TL)
