THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 200m SIR KORSKI (A Andrews) had to be steadied when awkwardly placed between UNICORN ALERT (JP van der Merwe) and REGULATION (C Zackey), which shifted in away from the heels of EMPIRE STATE (A Domeyer). Thereafter, REGULATION (C Zackey) commenced to hang inwards and carried UNICORN ALERT (JP van der Merwe) inwards, which resulted in GENTLEMAN JOE (C Orffer) shifting in and making contact with PRIME VENTURE (R Fourie) at the 100m. b) EMPIRE STATE (A Domeyer) was hanging in in the latter stages. c) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that UNICORN ALERT did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) REGULATION, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
